2009 recaps
January 2009:
New year! My lapband date was 1/28/09. Went to the seminar on 1/9/09. Met Dr. Landers 1/12/09. He was very sweet and caring doctor. I think he has never experienced an interpreter before. When he went to examine my stomach, he asked me if I wanted the interpreter to leave the room. I secertly giggled!
1/28/09 was my big day. I was banded!!!
February 2009:
I returned to work on 2/5/09.
Moved to Seattle after living in Federal Way for 8 years. I am glad I moved back to Seattle, the commute to work is much shorter. I had to find a place to live because I was in the process of losing my house to foreclosure. It was scheduled for 3/27/09. My brother and his friends helped me move and I didn't have to lift a finger since I had the surgery. It was perfect timing! LOL My parents just put their house on the market. After one day on the market, they got an offer and my parents accepted the offer. My new home is so TINY but it is really cozy. I would rather really move to Florida, it is still in my plans one day. If you know how big a 2 car garage is, that is how big my home is. I live above the garage. I don't mind, though since it is just me and my cat!
March 2009:
Got my first fill on 3/3/09. It was very easy. No interpreter, though, grrr but Dr. Landers did an outstanding job in communicating with me.
Mom and I went to the Northwest Women's show on 3/27/09. I hated the refridgator at my home, so I asked landlord if I could get my own fridge from my condo that was still mine and she said yes so they moved the fridge out and put into the garage for the neighbors to use. The neighbors were happy! More storage especially their beer! LOL. I love my fridge, it is a bottom freezer fridge. Don't laugh, but when my friend moved the fridge from my condo to my house, I actually hugged it!! Who knew one could get attached to an applicance. LOL
Anyway, mom and I went to the women's show, it was fun. I was so mad at my realtor, that I wish I had fired her and used my mom's realtor!! But I guess things happens for a reason. I finally got an offer for my condo, but it was too late, the day before foreclosure and the mortgage company wouldn't accept the short sale offer bec it was too late. GRRRRRRR So it foreclosured 3/27 and they wasted no time in changing locks at my condo. It was perfect timing because I had just gotten my fridge out in time! Whew!! Heck, it was mine and I bought it with my bonus in 2008! It was a good thing that I decided to start searching for a place very early instead of waiting till the last minute to find a place. I managed to score a really cute place where I am now, even though it is tiny. If I had waited, I wouldnt have gotten this place. It wasn't easy finding a place in my price range. Most places will not accept pets and I did not want to give up my kitty, Jordan.
April 2009:
My parents moved to Sequim and it was very hard on me. I was crying! :( Easter, my parents "rejected" me for the family get together, and I was very very hurt. My parents claimed that its not that they don't want me, it would be very crowded and that i will come by next weekend so mom and i could have more time together. I just didn't like the fact that their granddaughter (my neice) got to see my parents first and the new house first before me! Sounds competitve, much?? UGH! ! I told mom not to reject me ever again.
On April 21, it was my 1 year anniversary at Group Health and I am so glad that I left my last job. I love working alone, and independently!!! :) No micromanaging at all. I also finally broke 200 lbs and I haven't been under 200 lbs since maybe late 2004.
May 2009:
I can't remember much what happened in May.
June 2009:
Have to think on June.
July 2009:
Went to Rhode Island and Florida. It was supposed to be a road trip from RI to FL. It got cancelled. :( It was soo good to see the Brooks and I got to meet her parents. They are really cool. I loved Quinn especially because at the campground, he was shrilling that he couldn't understand me when I was signing with Alison. It was just soo cute and sweet that he didn't understand. Let me explain, alot of hearing people doesn't understand that it is very hard on deaf people (mainly family!!!) because they feel left out and hearing family members tend to not talk to us. Flew to FL. Was not happy about paying for baggage check in. I loved Rhode Island, it was sooo beautiful. Got a massage for only 30 dollars. It was awesome!! Beached quite abit in Florida and got sunburned. I was in the gulf a lot. I got to meet Brian Howe. He is a nice guy. His kitty, Dingo, was way too affectionable.
July 29, 2009... OMG Seattle had a HOTTEST day ever of 104 degrees. It was just awful and much worse than Florida!! NO JOKE!!!!
August 2009:
Not much happening..... parents and I went to the state fair, it was fun. My parents bought me my bed for my early b-day present at the fair since they had a special. I got a tempurpedic bed. I love it!!! Thanks, folks!
My neice got married in Las Vegas and I did not go because I couldn't afford to go and I had just returned home from Florida. I wasn't in the mood to cope with over 100 degrees in LV. Florida heat is much better for me! LOL
September 2009:
My parents travelled to OKlahoma and Arkansas. I was jealous because I wanted to go! I got a fill on September 22 and had to have an unfill on Sept. 27th because I got stuck and couldn't swallow food or even liquids!! :(
Went on my first hike in years and years. It was awesome!!! Dianne met me in Sequim and we went to Olympic National Park and drove up then walked to Hot springs. I had my monthly so I couldn't sit in the warm hot springs water.
October 2009:
Not much exciting things happened. Parents returned home safe from their trip.
November 2009:
Thanksgiving weekend: Spent it with parents. Had deep fried turkey and it was delish. Friday mom and I went to Kitsap Mall for christmas shopping. It was fun. Not very crowded since it wasn't a big big city like Seattle!
Nov. 29th very sad news in Lakewood, WA, a suburb of Tacoma, 4 police officers were amushed to death. Big ass manhunt for the suspect.
December 2009:
The suspect of the murders of 4 police officers was shot to death by Seattle officier. The suspect was about to kill the said officier.
Dad turned 65 on Dec 11th and I turned 43 on Dec 14th. I visited my parents there as usual.
My aunt Helen got really sick, was in hospital the doctors couldn't do much more for her and she didn't want to go home because she was in so much pain so they put her in a nursing home. I got to see her on Dec 24th, I haven't seen her for 5 years. I wish I had seen her more often.... she knew I was there and was happy to see me, even though she was in and out. It was hard seeing her like this, she was in a lot of pain. She turned 84 on Dec 20th. She died on Dec. 27th. I think she hung on as not to die on Christmas day. The funeral is set for January 6th.
My dad got really sick, his colitis was flaring up big time. He was admitted to the hospital and had been there for a week. Had CAT scan twice, and has colon blockage and may have to have surgery very soon. He is home now and I am sure he is glad to be back home with his huge flat screen tv! LOL. He was in hospital over christmas. It was weird not having dad around.... it wasnt the first time he was in hospital over christmas. He went into hospital on Xmas 1979 and got dx'ed with Ulcerative Colitis. So that means I have dad's gene because I too have autoimmue disorder named Ankylosing Spondylitis,, chronic imflammation of spine, but it has been under control for 3.5 years now! YAY!
I got nice gifts for christmas, the best of all the gifts was my new juicer!!! YAY! I love it so far... 700 watts and it seems to produce more juice and less pulp waste! I got a couple PJ's, a dvd movie, 3 tops, gift cards, $20 from brother, a couple books, (I got the book I loved as kid but stupidly got rid of it and it was my all time favorite book "What's for Lunch, Charley?". I got scentsy thing from my neice. 3 wii games and workouts.
I used the gift cards to buy 4 dvd sets that I wanted but didn't get, also bought wii ea active more workout game.
So that's it for the 2009 year review.
Now it is January 2nd... and I'm so glad the holidays are over.
I see Dr. Landers on 12th and I can't wait.. because he is HOT! LOL but seriously, I need a fill. I have gained 5 lbs! YIKES because so much was going on in December that my focus and working the band was not much of a priority but now I am prioritizing my band.
My plans for 2010, depending on my finances...
A long weekend in Florida sometime this year, and maybe a few days visit out east to visit Jean S. in NJ, and Hawaii in october with mom. Maybe a weekend trip to OKlahoma... who knows??? I just need a big raise!!
I also want to look into starting online schooling and get certification for medical billing/coding. They pay way better.
Maybe get a boyfriend, who knows? But I trust the universe. I need to watch the Secret again soon.. I still want to move to Florida.
I am so thankful for facebook. I have connected with a lot of old friends and made new friends from lapband message forums. I even connected with a guy that I knew in 7th grade. We had Social Studies together, and he was really nice boy. We talked everyday. All of a sudden he withdrew from school. I was sooo crushed, heartbrokened. He didn't tell me anything. All those years I had always thought I was the reason, not sure. Because I remember a few days or weeks before he was yanked out of school, the social studies teacher talked to both me and him individually on how we talked too much. I found him on facebook and asked if that was him! He does remember me!!! YAY! At first he said my name sounded very familiar and then he asked me if I was the one that we wrote notes alot to each other. I said yes yes yes!! So he remembered me and then explained why he left Chinook... he was being bullied and someone had stolen his clarinet instrument (he was in a band) and his parents just decided to take him out of school and to another school without even asking him about how he felt. He did say that his best memories at the middle school was me!! AWWWWW!!! Sniff... so I am relieved that I wasn't the reason! I sound obsessive much! HA! But nahhh... my friend told me that her friend ran away in 6th grade and never came back again and she still thinks and wonders about her. I couldn't relaly remember what he looked like as he wasn't in middle school long enough to have the picture in year book... so he was very sweet because he recently found his ASB 7th grade card in a box and he scanned it and sent it to me on facebook and it does very closely match what I was trying to remember what he looked like!!! :) :) :)
Anyway have a great 2010!!!!!
